San Diego Circus performers Mango and Dango Have been absorbed in the circus realm for just about 15 years now and the creativity is still burning hot on the stove.
Mango and Dango have trained in multiple forms of circus arts as well as dance, theater, and physical comedy. Mangos passions are in the sky performing aerial tissue or rope as well as partner acrobatics and dance. Dango prefers to balance on objects attached to the ground performing chair stacking, doing handstands on the rolla bolla atop a 4 ft tall table as well as juggling and manipulation of random objects. Both Mango and Dango find that their greatest moments of enjoyment are when they are interacting with audience members and in the moment with them. Being in the now with an audience is the reason we keep coming back to the stage every year.
Once upon a time I heard the difference between a good artist and a great artist is how they spend their off season.
Luckily we are still as excited about circus and want to create as much as when we performed our first act together in 2003. wow…does time fly. As we step back as Megan and Derrick and take a look at the journey we have been on we are abound with gratefulness for our ability to interact, play and create with every one of you. When we began performing circus in San Diego we never thought it would consume so much of our life, but we are incredibly happy that it has not only become one of our greatest passions, but also a passion for so many other people across the world.
. As we begin to settle into 2018 and devise plans for authentic, beautiful and bizarre new projects we also can’t help but see that life itself is an authentic, beautiful and bizarre new project. This year has a lot in store for us all and we can’t wait to hear about all the new work, dreams, life changing experiences and completion of goals that you all have in your pocket as well. Whatever it is you may be doing, let us all do it well.
